Our History

With deep local roots and a desire to build both custom homes and lasting relationships, Alex Gregg started his first building company in 2008. Throughout the past decade, the company grew into a valued partnership with a strong team. In 2019, with the support of his family and dedicated team, Alex had the opportunity to relaunch as Gregg Homebuilding Company, carrying on his mission to serve the Middle Tennessee community as an industry leader, specialized in building beautiful, custom homes and providing a continued high level of customer service to new and past clients alike.

Alex Gregg

President

Alex is a licensed general contractor in the state of Tennessee with over 20 years of experience in the residential construction industry. A native of Franklin, he attended Battle Ground Academy and received a BS in Engineering Physics from Belmont University, where he was a four year letterman on the baseball team. Before becoming a home builder, Alex returned to BGA to teach Algebra, Geometry, and Physics, as well as coach varsity basketball and baseball. He currently resides in Franklin with his wife Amy and children, Madelyn and Hudson.

Suzanne May

Pre-Construction Manager & Selections Coordinator

Suzanne joined the team in 2022 and brings 25 years of construction expertise to the organization. In her roles as Pre Construction Manager and Selections Coordinator, Suzanne collaborates closely with clients to guide them through the Pre Construction Phase, from plan design to selections and budgeting. She facilitates the Design Team of Interior Designers, Architects, Landscape Architects, Civil, and Structural Engineers in creating custom dream homes for our clients. Suzanne assists clients in making selections for various items, including appliances, cabinets, lighting fixtures, and plumbing fixtures.

When constructing a custom home, there are numerous decisions to make. Suzanne is committed to assisting clients in making informed decisions while ensuring that the process remains on track. Her friendly and positive demeanor creates a pleasant experience for our clients. Suzanne currently resides in Spring Hill with her husband, three children, and dog.

 

Matt Donegan

Construction Manager

Matt is an experienced residential construction professional with over 15 years of hands-on expertise in building homes in Middle Tennessee and the Chicago suburbs. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, he earned a degree in Construction Management, which laid the foundation for a successful career in the industry.  Based in Nashville, Matt balances a fulfilling career with family life, enjoying adventures with his wife and their two children. When not on the job site, he enjoys biking, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors. Passionate about quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction, Matt is dedicated to bringing dream homes to life.

Brad Sullins

Estimator & Purchasing

Brad first joined the team in 2012. His work ethic and dedication to excellence have helped him contribute greatly. Having previously owned and operated a framing company, Brad brings a high level of knowledge and invaluable experience to help build quality homes at Gregg Homebuilding Company. Brad currently resides in Spring Hill and is a proud father of his daughter.

Lee Grugett

Senior Project Manager

Lee joined the team in 2013 and immediately made a huge impact and continues to do so. His level of customer service is top notch, and he is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to building homes. He started his career in residential construction in 1998 after earning a degree in Construction Management from Middle Tennessee State University in the same year. Lee currently resides in Franklin with his wife and two children.

Brennon Lee

Project Manager

Brennon joined the team in 2020 to oversee warranty operations and assist in project management. He completed internships at Gregg Homebuilding and Brasfield & Gorrie while attending the University of Tennessee where he graduated with a degree in Construction Science.  He has made a positive impact on the team and in the field because he is ambitious, motivated, and loves learning about all aspects of the building process.  In his free time, Brennon enjoys woodworking and golfing. Brennon currently resides in Nolensville with his wife and two dogs.

Nic Omnes

Project Manager

Nic joined the team in 2022 to help assist in project management. Nic has over 7 years of experience in custom home building, as well as experience in the Non Profit sector. High attention to detail, problem solving and a positive attitude are just a few of the characteristics Nic showcases daily. Originally from Nevada, Nic has lived in the middle Tennessee area for the past 12 years. He currently resides on a small farm in Chapel Hill with his wife, son, and their menagerie of animals.

Alexis Pritchard

Project Coordinator

Alexis joined Gregg Homebuilding in 2025 after relocating from Arizona. With a background in marketing and interior design, she brings creativity, organization, and attention to detail to every project. Before joining the team, Alexis worked as an interior design project manager, coordinating with clients, designers, and vendors to bring projects from concept to completion. As Project Coordinator at Gregg Homebuilding, she works closely with both the Pre-Construction and Construction teams to keep projects on track and serve as a consistent point of contact for clients from start to finish. Alexis lives in Franklin with her husband and daughter and enjoys spending time with family and exploring their new community in Tennessee.

Sarah Slayton

Executive Assistant

Sarah is an experienced administrator with 8 years in operations and executive support, including 4 years in custom homebuilding. Working remotely from North Georgia, she partners closely with President Alex Gregg to keep the business running smoothly—managing calendars, preparing agendas, coordinating meetings, and stewarding our internal databases. Originally from Franklin, TN, she visits the team and family in Franklin often. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys singing, spending time with friends and being outdoors with her husband, Evan, and their 18-month-old daughter, Aurora.

Amy Gregg

Social Media & Marketing Director

Amy is originally from Columbia, TN and graduated high school from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin. She then attended Samford University in Birmingham. In 2003, Amy graduated as University Salutatorian with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Her nursing career started at Vanderbilt Hospital in the pediatric emergency room and later continued in the oncology department. She continued part-time in the medical field once she became a mother as she primarily focused on raising two children. Even though she has always contributed to the team behind the scenes since the company first started, Amy officially became the Social Media & Marketing Director in 2016. Her attention to detail, consistency, and hard work help build the company’s online presence as well as introduce future clients to Gregg Homebuilding Company.
